Don’t Believe God Is In The Habit Of Saving Us From Our Stupid Choices

October 30, 2008

Life taught me that.

Inspiration is leadership. Leadership inspires and empowers people to do their best work. Manipulation just sucks.
A true leader embodies freedom and opportunity, instead of imposing it. He makes us see who we can be instead of preserving who we are..

True leaders are open and collaborative rather than secretive and deterministic. They turn people around them civic-minded, thoughtful, and hopeful, as opposed to ambivalent or, worse yet, cynical.

I’m blessed for I’ve met one (will tell you if you ask me:), but is the other Obama..? 10 reasons (some good, some lame) that I voted for Barack Obama

Larry and Sergey’s New Toy

October 28, 2008

Google Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin were exceptional in that they stand out as the onlies from the Silicon valley techies billionaire executives to be granted access to Moffett Field, an air station owned and managed by the NASA Ames Research Center. In an agreement signed in July 31st, 2007, H211 LLC, company owned by Larry Page and Sergey Brin were allowed to park four aircrafts at Moffett Field.

In exchange for the NASA air station, H211 agreed to allow NASA use its aircrafts for scientific research plus a cool $1.3 million a year in rent.

To enable NASA use the fleet there needs various modification performed on them. With each passenger plane modification requiring new certifications from FAA created many issues for the Google executives that would’ve lead them to lose the parking spot. The new Alpha Jet classified as an experimental aircraft has lifted the issue.

Here’s the view of Moffet field, taken from Stevens creek while geo caching..

41 Ways to be a Lifestyle Design Bad-Ass

October 24, 2008

My colleague Milinda seems to have a never-ending collection of super links to some great content!
Here are my favorites from ..(what a way to wind up an amazing work week:)

10. Success usually happens in the middle of massive chaos
16. Follow your own path and don’t give a sh*t what anyone else says, especially if they aren’t giving you money that’s a good one 😉
17. Nurture important relationships in your life. and tell others to go fly.. and do so with a smiling face!
18. Protect your time like a father protects his daughter. If anyone tries to steal your time with things that are important to them but not important to you, immediately terminate the situation. Sounds harsh but if you don’t do this, you’ll spend the majority of your time doing things that are important to others but not to you.
26. Keep your phone on silent as often as possible and batch process your calls
29.Understand when you walk your own path in life others will be irritated and often offended. This is ok Repeat to self
31. Start relationships with people you want in your life with the giving hand. Do something cool for them before you ask ANYTHING of them this is religion.
32. relationship with the wrong person or a career you hate are two things that can f**k happiness up real quick. Make sure you have the right relationship and career
39. Stay on your path, be persistent yet flexible.
